My formal training, as a painter, began at The Cleveland Museum Of Art in Cleveland, Ohio. Painting and drawing was my major course of study at Glenville High School, Cuyahoga College, Kent State and Cleveland State Universities. I studied drawing and painting at The Cooper School of Art and Karamu House. I have participated in drawing and painting workshops, exhibitions and seminars throughout the United States.

In Southern California, I co-founded the San Diego Portrait Society with Perrietta Hester. I've been a member of the Rancho Santa Fe Art Guild and the La Jolla Art Association. Studied drawing and painting at The La Jolla Athenaeum and was a student of Don Sebastian Capella.
